Judy Magnuson, PhD. completed her doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Fresno in 1991. Dr. Magnuson grew up in Nebraska, and has resided in Lincoln for many years.. She was a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Sedgwick County Mental Health in Wichita, Kansas, from 1991 to 1993. In Wichita she worked with children in need of care, juvenile offenders and their families. She has been in private practice since 1993 while also working with 3 different hospitals over the course of that time including Hastings Regional Center, Mary Lanning Healthcare and Bryan Medical Center. She joined The Psychology Center in January of 2024.
Dr. Magnuson completed her internship at the W. Gary Cannon Psychological Services Center, specializing in working with children and families. Her early career included work in agencies serving primarily children and adolescents. Dr. Magnuson’s work has always included adults as well. In fact, her background in Lifespan Developmental Psychology has enhanced her treatment of individuals and families across all age groups. Her work includes couples struggling with all the trials and complexities of marriage. She treats individuals with a wide range of presenting problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, bipolar disorders, etc. She works with people facing transitions in life and the general challenges faced by all people.
